The America that I intimately photograph seems different, unfamiliar, fractured. People seem anxious, divided, disinterested and, at times, unhinged. Has something changed? I’m curious. What’s going on? My goal is to democratically photograph within the context of present day America and to express the work in a series of handmade books, DISPATCHES FROM AMERICA. While it is impossible to photograph the grand breath of America, well thought-out samples are doable.
Consider this a non-scientific inquiry into a people.
The project started in 2017 and is ongoing. The first book (dispatch), SAINT CLAIR, was released in the summer of 2018.
